The Department of Civil Engineering / College of Engineering – University of Anbar organized a scientific seminar, in the presence of the Head of the Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Hamid Aswad Mohammed, as part of the postgraduate students’ activities (First Semester) for the academic year 2025–2026, on Monday, 22/12/2025.
The seminar was entitled:
“Geotechnical Site Characterization of Surface Soils for Urban Development in Ramadi”
It was presented by the postgraduate student: Safaa Najm Abdullah

The research focuses on evaluating the engineering properties related to shallow foundations, roads, and infrastructure. It also investigates the susceptibility of soils to collapse and swelling due to loading and wetting, assesses soil stability and bearing capacity, and identifies appropriate soil improvement techniques to support urban development in the city of Ramadi.
