The public defense of the Master’s thesis submitted by the student Sari Ayman Khudair was held at the Department of Dams and Water Resources Engineering, College of Engineering, University of Anbar, in Al-Jazari Hall at the department.
The defense was attended by the Dean of the College of Engineering, Professor Dr. Amir Abdulrahman Hilal, and the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Mohammed Abdul Ahmed, on Thursday, January 22, 2026.
The thesis was entitled:
“Statistical Analysis of the Impact of Variable Discharge on Hydraulic Characteristics and Water Quality of the Euphrates River at Haditha Dam, Iraq.”
The examination committee consisted of the following members:

• Associate Professor Dr. Atheer Saleem Ubaid – Member

• Assistant Professor Dr. Adi Hatim Abdulhameed – Member and Supervisor
The thesis aims to analyze the relationship between variable river discharge of the Euphrates River and both hydraulic characteristics and water quality in the Haditha Dam area, using statistical methods, regression models, and water quality index assessment. It also examines spatial variations between the reservoir and release zones, as well as seasonal changes, in order to support sustainable water resources management in Iraq.
Following an in-depth discussion by the examination committee, the student successfully passed the defense with a “Satisfactory” grade.
