The Department of Civil Engineering, College of Engineering – University of Anbar, held a meeting with its faculty members on Sunday morning, February 1, 2026, chaired by the Head of the Department, Assist. Prof. Dr. Hamid Aswad Mohammed, on the occasion of the start of the second semester of the 2025–2026 academic year. The meeting took place at 11:00 a.m. in Ibn Al-Haytham Hall.

The meeting addressed a number of key topics, most notably emphasizing the attendance and presence of faculty members and their commitment to assigned duties, in addition to reviewing the roles and responsibilities of the departmental committees and their contribution to organizing academic and administrative work.

The importance of faculty cooperation with the Program Accreditation Committee was also highlighted, along with joint efforts to complete the requirements for obtaining program accreditation for the Department of Civil Engineering, thereby contributing to the enhancement of the department’s academic standards.

The meeting further stressed the significance of scientific publishing in reputable journals, discussed formative assessments for third- and fourth-year students, and reviewed the mechanisms for conducting electronic examinations for postgraduate students.

At the conclusion of the meeting, a number of additional departmental matters were addressed, with an emphasis on strengthening cooperation and teamwork to better serve students and advance the University’s academic mission.
